Active Students, Active Learners physical activity toolkit
In cooperation with the Tennessee Department of Education and the Tennessee Department of Health we have created an Active Students, Active Learners physical activity toolkit. The toolkit is composed of four components of physical activity: during school, physical education, before & after school, and community engagement. There are also activities that are directly related to math and reading. Under each component you will find best practices from schools across the state of Tennessee, tools and resources that support each component, and research evidence that supports physical activity. This toolkit will be a working document where we will be adding best practices and new tools and resources as we learn about them. If you could please share this with administrators and teachers in your district. You can find the toolkit here, which begins with a welcome video from Commissioner McQueen and Commissioner Dreyzehner.
