Dear Families,
Thank you for a great first nine weeks. We have only a few weeks until Thanksgiving and Christmas is just around the corner. I would like to thank everyone that attended our Fall Festival and especially to those teachers and parents who volunteered their time to help. It was a great afternoon!
Jasper Elementary will soon start afternoon tutoring and homework help in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade.
4th grade families, please continue to check and sign your child’s agenda.

The Fall Festival was held at the end of October and was a huge success - even the weather was great. Approximately 450-500 children attended plus many parents/guardians! The PTO would like to send out a huge THANK YOU to all of the teachers/parents/everyone that helped! We were overwhelmed with all of the support that you shown and how many people we had volunteering! It couldn't have happened without you!
The PTO will be selling new JES shirts - we will now be offering a long sleeve, crewneck sweatshirt & hooded sweatshirt - be looking for your order form to come home in a backpack soon! |

Classroom Weigh-in
|
| There was some fun competition going on between the classrooms during the month of October. Each classroom collected coins which were then weighed & the classroom with the most weight per student won a free afternoon (movie & popcorn). Each classroom got to keep the money though to help buy supplies, etc. for their own room. And, the winning classroom was Ms. Sims kindergarten class!!! Congratulations! |

Mrs. Turner wins art award!!!
|
| Mrs. Sonya Turner, JES art teacher, has been doing art for years, but has just completed the model of her first sculpture and it's already a winner! It was selected from among 40 others for the MidSouth Sculpture Alliance (MSA) Juried Student Sculpture Exhibition. The model known to Mrs. Turner as "Fats" is a whimsical piece that represents flying dominoes! The finished product will eventually be on display at the school and will stand over 12 foot tall! Congratulations Mrs. Turner!!! |

THANKS Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Nashville |
| We wanted to give a special thank you to Blue Cross/Blue Shield for their wonderful donation - they graciously donated about 100 chairs to the school. And thanks also to Ron Tucker (the dad of Riley Tucker in Mrs. Bailey's class) for organizing it all and Jimmy Sneed (the dad of Grace & Emmie Sneed in Mrs. Hoschar & Mrs. Lofty's class) for getting them here! THANKS!!!! |
