Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to Jasper Middle School!  We are so excited you are here and look forward to a great year.  JMS is a great place to grow, learn, and develop into productive, responsible young ladies and gentlemen.  There are many various activities and a challenging curriculum to help guide you and mold you into what you want to be.  It is vital for the success of our school that you contribute your talents and abilities, so we can reach our goal of being the best middle school in Tennessee.

This student planner is for you to use as a reference concerning policies and procedures and to use as a homework reminder.  It is important you and your parents/guardians read and understand the information, so everyone can work together to create a safe and caring learning environment.  It takes all of us doing our part to continue to provide the best and safest educational experience for our students.

JMS will challenge you with a rigorous and relevant curriculum that will prepare you for high school and beyond.  Our classes are designed to meet individual needs and to equip you with knowledge, skills, work ethic, and character for a successful future.  We have high expectations for all students.  We have a dedicated and professional staff doing what is best for students on a daily basis.

We look forward to a wonderful year.

JMS NEWS

The Jasper Middle School campus has a long tradition of academic excellence.  Students have been attending school here since 1890, when the first session of Pryor Institute convened. Years later it became home to Marion County High School and is currently Jasper Middle School.

The faculty of Jasper Middle School is creating a “Wall of Fame” to recognize the accomplishments of former students who attended school on this campus. We are including former middle school students, as well as, those students enrolled at the time it was Marion County High School or Pryor Institute.

If you would like to recognize yourself or someone else for successful life achievements or community contributions, please call the JMS office at 423-942-6251 or email rmcentyre@mctns.net for an application.
