Mrs. Headrick began her sixteen year teaching career in the Marion County school system. During those years, Mrs. Headrick had the pleasure of teaching kindergarten, first grade, second grade, a pre-first grade transition class, special education (Grades 4 – 6) and an at-risk class. She was also an assistant principal for three years. Mrs. Headrick is currently in her third year as principal of Jasper Middle School.

Mrs. Headrick’s foremost goal is to create a safe and secure learning environment for all students of Jasper Middle School. This goal is being accomplished in many ways. Successes thus far include: establishing a safe traffic flow pattern for dismissal of students and the implementation of anti-bullying program. Mrs. Headrick credits her faculty and staff for these successes and the many more that will follow.

Another way that Mrs. Headrick is working to accomplish her goal is to make sure that all students know how much the teachers and she cares about them, not only academically, but also emotionally. It is her belief and that of her faculty that students do not care about how much you know, they need to know how much you care.

Mrs. Headrick and her faculty are working together on integrating reading and writing throughout the curriculum. The faculty has had professional development in this area and works diligently to incorporate reading and writing strategies in all subject areas.

Jasper Middle School is also working together to provide opportunities to enhance the lives of Jasper Middle School students. Efforts being made in this area include providing opportunities for student involvement in organizations of interest, including, but not limited to, athletics such as Stock Market Game, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Odyssey of the Mind.

The mission of Jasper Middle School is to provide a positive learning environment that will motivate students, instill a lifelong desire for learning, and maximizes the opportunity for success in the school community so that its students will become confident, compassionate, and productive citizens.

Because of the dedicated faculty and staff, this mission continues to be a reality. Mrs. Headrick is grateful to all of the parents and caregivers of her students because of the sacrifices that they make each day to provide their children with the academic and emotional support that they need to be successful.
