Tommye Kaye Stanfill is married to Tommy, the owner of Century 21 Cumberland Realty in Jasper, TN. They have one daughter and one granddaughter who live in Murfreesboro, TN. Mrs. Stanfill's 30 years experience in education includes teaching elementary grades in Obion Co., Dyersburg City Schools and Marion County, TN. She assumed her present position in April, 2003. Her hobbies include, traveling, reading, shopping and spending time with family.

Mrs. Stanfill attended Riverside High School in Parsons, TN. She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin and her Master's degree from Tennessee Technological University.

As Director of Personnel, Mrs. Stanfill is responsible for the following functions:

• Plans and directs a program for selection and assignment of the best-qualified teachers and personnel
• Interviews applicants and makes recommendations to the director of schools in regard to employment
• Certifies classifications and salaries to payroll department
• Develops job descriptions
• Maintains adequate records of personnel
• Organizes substitute teachers used in the schools
• Conducts ongoing new teacher induction program
• Confers with principals to determine school staff needs
• Produces organizational chart of all personnel in the system
• Provides necessary work for issuance and renewal of state licenses
• Supports teacher sick leave bank according to guidelines
• Counsels and advises applicants and employees concerning No Child Left Behind regulations
• Ensures that all employees' rights are upheld
• Prepares required State Department reports
• Files and maintains worker's compensation claims for all personnel
